Career booster

Gliding school
Already fascinated by aircraft as a child, I began my flying career at the age of 17 and completed my training as a glider pilot - the perfect introduction to understanding the basics, freedoms and limits of flying.

Heliswiss AG (now Swiss Helicopter AG)
After graduating, I discovered helicopter flying and completed my training to become a professional pilot. I gained my first experience as a sightseeing pilot and was particularly fascinated by mountain training and night flights.

Lufthansa Pilot School
Shortly before my 30th birthday, I joined the Lufthansa pilot school. A year of theory in Bremen was followed by my first flights in Arizona, where experienced instructors taught us how to land accurately. Back in Europe, we practised instrument flying in the simulator and on small jets.

Lufthansa and Swiss International Airlines
After a few hours in the simulator, landing training began with an airliner in Croatia - it was a highlight to do aerodrome circuits with an empty aircraft. This was followed by scheduled operations, first with Lufthansa and later in the cockpit of Swiss International Airline in Zurich.

Swiss Helicopter AG
Thanks to further training at the Federal Office of Civil Aviation, I became a helicopter flight instructor. Shortly afterwards, I taught my first students how to operate the levers and buttons and how to manoeuvre in the air.

Swiss Helicopter AG
At the age of 38, I returned to helicopter flying in its entirety, leading theory training and training pilots. Two years later, I took over the management of the flight school as Head of Training and have been part of the management of Swiss Helicopter AG ever since.
